Consider what your wedding is trying to accomplish

You don’t need to have a wedding to end up married, so really ask yourself: what am I trying to do here? For us, because we are old, it was about uniting disparate people from across our lives. We handpicked people to give us toasts, then opened the mic for anyone to speak and wish us well. All together, about a quarter of our guests spoke, creating a community along the way. It was magical and meaningful and absolutely unexpected.
